Prior to obtaining his specialist registration by the GMC, Mr Mansour worked as a Surgical Senior Fellow at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary, University of Glasgow. This fellowship enabled him to gain invaluable experience in both Oesophago-gastric (OG) and Pancreatico biliary (HPB) surgery.
Mr Mansour was appointed upon completion of his training as a Consultant Surgeon in Nuneaton, West Midlands, followed by a substantive appointment as a Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon at Pennine Acute NHS Trust, Greater Manchester in 2014. Mr Mansour joined the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust in April 2021.
Since his appointment in 2014, Mr Mansour has created, with his fellow colleagues, a complex benign Upper GI Service for North Manchester population, including an established anti-reflux and hiatal/diaphragmatic hernia surgery service.
He served for 4 years as the Lead Governance Consultant for Surgery at North Manchester, implementing and ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe service within his unit and beyond.
Mr Mansour offers a wide range of complex laparoscopic procedures, including: anti-reflux surgery, cholecystectomies, laparoscopic abdominal wall and groin hernia surgery, as well as excision of subcutaneous lumps. He also offers a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies and colonoscopies.
He has special interest in medical education and training and has close ties with the Surgical Royal Colleges and the Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom, of which he is an established fellow. He is a proud trainer of both junior and senior trainees, as well as undergraduate students of Manchester University Medical School.
