Personal Profile
Dr Ahmed is a general adult cardiologist with over 20 years of extensive clinical experience in treating patients with a wide variety of cardiovascular problems.
His technical skills include 2D/3D echocardiograms, trans-oesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms including exercise, E-bike and Dobutamine. Dr Ahmed is also fully trained and has extensive experience in reporting CT coronary angiograms.
Dr Ahmed also takes a keen interest in helping the South Asian community and makes regular media appearances to help spread awareness of cardiovascular disease.
Research and publications
Dr Ahmed actively continues to conduct research to study platelet function in hypertension and coronary artery disease by using novel techniques like the latest PFA -100 (platelet function analyzer) and Verify Now system.
He is a co-investigator in ongoing international epidemiological prospective population studies investigating the mechanisms underlying heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity and other major medical problems.
Dr Ahmed is author of over 25 peer reviewed papers, abstracts and presentations. He has presented his research at both national and international meetings, including the prestigious American Heart Association and European Society of Cardiology.
